Art Film Fest

About

Founded in 1993, the Art Film Fest is the oldest international film festival in Slovakia. The number of visitors grows each year. While 1993’s Artfilm was attended by a modest 400 guests, four years later attendance levels surpassed 15 000 film fans. In 2007, Artfilm welcomed close to 25 000 visitors, and last year this number rose to nearly 30 000.

Awards

In the International Competition of Feature Films:

• Blue Angel for Best Film
• Blue Angel for Best Director
• Blue Angel for Best Female Performance
• Blue Angel for Best Male Performance

In the International Competition of Short Films:

• Blue Angel Award for best short film under 30 minutes

The Jury has the power to grant additional awards called «Special Mention» to other films in the International Competition of Short Films.  

Rules

International Competition of Feature Films:

• The director’s first, second or third feature-length fiction film,
• Produced after January 1, 2021
• available on one of the following formats: DCP 2D,
• film print over 60 minutes in length.

International Competition of Short Films:

• fiction, documentary, experimental or animated,
• up to 30 minutes in length (short films),
• produced by professionals or students,
• produced after January 1, 2021,
• available on one of the following formats: DCP 2D.

No premiere requirement
