About

Porto7 is a festival dedicated to short films. Its target is to promote the production and exhibition of short films and to act as an intermediary among cultures and nationalities that participate in the Festival. Porto7 is a cultural event open to producers, directors, students, enthusiasts and people who enjoy the 7th art. This Festival its a place for exchange between artists, directors, audiovisual business companies and audience, where different promotional activities will take place. (Film screenings, parties, ceremonies, music bands, products presentations, etc.).

  • International Short-Film Competition - FICTION, 
  • International Short-Film Competition- ANIMATION, 
  • Music Video Competition, 
  • Porto7 National Short-Film Competition - FICTION, 
  • International Documentary Competition – Documentary.
  • International Micro-film Competition - MICRO-FILM.

Non Competitive Sections:

  • Short Film Screening– Screening of contestants films not selected for the competitive sections.
  • Festival Partners Short Film Screening – Screening of Short Films from Porto7 Festival Partners. 

Awards

The Prizes are: Porto7’s trophy and certificate.

  • Best International Short film,
  • Best Director of the International Short film,
  • Best original screenplay in International Short Film Competition,
  • Best Actor/Actress in International Short Film Competition,
  • Best International Animation,
  • Best International Music Video,
  • Best International Documentary,
  • Best National Short Film,
  • Other exceptional awards or special mentions from the Jury and the Director in the International competitive section.

Rules

  • Films produced in any format.
  • Projects completed after March 1st, 2018.
  • Short films with maximum length of 20 minutes. Micro films with maximum length of 90 seconds with credits.
  • Micro films must be without sound and dialogues.
  • Subtitles language: Portuguese or English

Documents and Other Requisite Items

  1. Fill out entry form,
  2. Pay entry fees  by PayPal or with all the material by mail.
  3. Send by mail:
  •  Sheet 1, duly filled out and signed by the films authors or by their legal rights owner 
  • Video file with the film at full resolution with subtitles.
  • 2 still photos from the film; Trailer from the film; Synopsis; Director’s CV and photo.
  • Proof of the payment
